Fortnite Battle Royale servers are offline for maintenance, as Epic Games disables matchmaking.
Any Fortnite fans trying to login to the game will find that the servers aren’t responding.
“Downtime for the v5.20 update has begun,” reads an Epic tweet. “Get all the details in this week’s Patch Notes.”
Fortunately, barring a catastrophe, the Fortnite servers won’t be offline for very long.
Offline server maintenance tends to only last for a couple of hours, so expect the game to come back online by 11am at the latest.
If the downtime is scheduled to last any longer, the Fortnite Twitter account will keep fans updated.
And with the servers offline, Epic Games has released a lengthy list of patch notes to keep fans busy.
The new Fortnite update 5.2 patch notes confirm the release of the double-barrel shotgun.
The weapon is available in Epic and Legendary variants, and does a lot of damage at close range.
Available from floor loot, chests, Supply Drops, and Vending Machines, the new shotgun delivers high burst damage at close range.
The Epic variant does 143 base damage at close range, while the Legendary does a whopping 150 damage.
Elsewhere, fans can check out a brand new game mode called Steady Storm.
According to the patch notes, Steady Storm features one constantly moving storm that closes in over the course of 15 minutes.
There are no safe zones, and the storm does a considerable ten damage every second.
Players are encouraged to keep an eye on the storm to figure out where it will close in.
